Soundscapes

Artistic residence
at the Crogny forestry high school

With the sound artist and composer Vivien Trelcat

The project invites young people to discover music creation through listening and sound experimentation. Starting from themes of nature and solidarity, they learn to pay attention to their environment: recording the sounds of the forest, landscapes, and materials; exploring sound instruments and tools; transforming, assembling, inventing.

Guided by the artist, the students compose their own sound pieces, blending music, storytelling, and imaginary landscapes. This collective experience encourages them to listen to the world differently, to create together, and to share their discoveries through sound.

During this project, Vivien Trelcat will propose:

  • Workshops for 3 classes during the two weeks of residence: CAPA, second year, first year.

  • Voluntary open workshops for all students of the institution.

  • Presentation and exchange sessions with the artist for all classes.

  • Community engagement activities (in relation to primary education, local associations, seniors).

To conclude this project, we will organize a presentation open to the general public. It will likely take the form of a sound walk in the lush Crogny Arboretum, on the occasion of Sunday in the Country in April 2026.

The artist residency is a device for artistic and cultural education financed by the DRAC Grand Est. This project is carried out with the support of the Crogny forestry high school, Cultural Pass, and Césaré - CNCM, Reims.
