Soundscapes
Artist residency
at the Crogny forestry high school
With sound artist and composer Vivien Trelcat
The project invites young people to discover musical creation through listening and sonic experimentation. Starting from the themes of nature and solidarity, they learn to pay attention to their surroundings: recording the sounds of the forest, landscapes, and materials; exploring sound instruments and tools; transforming, assembling, inventing.
Guided by the artist, the students compose their own sound pieces, somewhere between music, storytelling, and imagined landscapes. This collective experience invites them to listen to the world differently, to create together, and to share their discoveries through sound.
During this project, Vivien Trelcat will offer:
Workshops for 3 classes during the two weeks of the residency: CAPA, grade 10, grade 11.
Open workshops on a voluntary basis to all students at the school.
Presentation and discussion time with the artist for all classes.
Community outreach activities (linked to primary education, local associations, seniors).
To conclude this project, we will organize a public presentation open to everyone. It will most likely take the form of a sound walk through the lush Crogny Arboretum, on the occasion of Dimanche à la campagne, on April 26, 2026.
The artist residency is an arts and cultural education program funded by the DRAC Grand Est. This project is carried out with the support of Crogny Forestry High School, pass Culture, and Césaré - CNCM, Reims.
