Tribute concert to Pierre Henry
Alcôme: Armando Balice and QingQing Teng
Tribute Concert to Pierre Henry
For this centenary year of the birth of Pierre Henry, pioneer of concrete music, Armando Balice and QingQing Teng present a concert of his works performed on Alcôme's acousmonium, an orchestra of around forty loudspeakers arranged around the audience.
On the program, two major works ranging from the early explorations of concrete music in the 1950s, to the poetic and evocative soundscapes of his maturity. An imaginary journey in which only the power of sounds transports us.
"This is the very essence of concrete music, it comes from the imagination", Pierre Henry

Biography
Alcôme develops musical creation projects at the intersection of electroacoustic and experimental music. The company explores the relationships between sound, space, the body, and perception, making listening a sensitive and immersive experience. At the heart of its work: an acousmonium of more than 40 loudspeakers, a true instrument of sound spatialization allowing to sculpt sound in space and reveal the acoustic qualities of venues. Modular and open to dialogue with other artistic disciplines, this setup gives rise to hybrid forms combining concerts, sound installations, and multidisciplinary performances.
Since 2024, Armando Balice and Qingqing Teng have been running the Ondes Croisées festival, dedicated to crossing the aesthetics and cultures of contemporary sound creation.
