Hypertemps > Festival in situ

Sound Performance
Clément Edouard

Hypertemps is a project of installation and sound performance on the notion of time, rhythm, and cycle. It is an invitation to step out of the hyper-stimulation of our societies to settle into a spontaneous and qualitative time, reinforcing the connection to what and who surrounds us.

Three Perspectives on Time

The project is based on chronosophy — a discipline between philosophy and science that seeks to understand the impact of time on human existence — through three regimes:

  • Hypertime: the frenetic and digital rhythm of our current lives.

  • Destiny: the natural time of seasons and celestial bodies.

  • Occasion: a suspended time that questions our interactions.

An Immersion at the Heart of Sound

At the center of the setup, three percussionists and speakers create a rhythmic trance. Surrounding the audience, twelve tubular and suspended bells resonate to enlarge the space of perception and create a more cyclical relationship with time.
