As part of faraway — festival of the arts in Reims, Césaré presents Calebasses Labs, a sound and visual installation by the Argentine composer Mario Lorenzo. It is at the very heart of this installation, sitting around the device, that the artist invites you to a musical performance.

A bustling rumor

Sensitive to the issues of acoustic pollution, Calebasses Labs explores a sound space of low intensity but great richness. Through a “low-tech” approach, composed mainly of South American gourd bowls and low-energy transducers, this “musical laboratory” of the 21st century offers a non-intrusive and unique diffusion.

A myriad of sound grains then unfolds, drawing an area that is both spacious and almost silent, which the audience is invited to discover during close listening sessions.
