Pierce Warnecke
Live multichannel concert

Imagine a distant future where our era has collapsed. In his multichannel performance, Pierce Warnecke puts us in the shoes of future researchers capturing the (fictional) sound signals of our capitalist 21st century. Through this speculative device, AI-generated sounds become artifacts distorted by futuristic technologies. Between music and noise, interference and rhythmic bursts, the live performance oscillates like a giant cosmic radio. A unique immersive experience, co-developed with IRCAM.

Biography
Pierce Warnecke's work, at the frontier of experimental music, digital arts, and video art, is heavily influenced by observing the effect of time on matter: modification, deterioration, and disappearance. Threaded through his creations are an omnipresent but non-explicit narrative, and the use of raw objects and materials, which engage in a dialogue with a technology thus returned to its status as a tool.
He has presented his work in the form of performances, concerts, and installations in venues like Rewire, Mutek, GRM, ZKM, ManiFeste (IRCAM), CTM, Elektra, KW Institut, La Biennale Nemo, Sonic Acts, Martin Gropius Bau, MAC Montréal, Gray Area SF, Scopitone, LEV Festival, Semibreve, SXSW, FILE, etc. He has been co-curator of the émettermicro label and festival with Kris Limbach and Seiji Morimoto in Berlin since 2011, as well as the Le Signal Festival in France with Louis Laurain from 2020 - 2025.
Between 2017 and 2019, he composed several audiovisual works for the Hexadome project of the Institute for Sound and Music in Berlin, San Francisco, Montreal, etc., and was a professor in the MPTI (music, production, technology, and innovation) master's program at Berklee Valencia from 2015 to 2020.
Pierce collaborates frequently and has worked with Phill Niblock, Frank Bretschneider, Matthew Biederman, Myriam Bleau, Keith Fullerton Whitman, Louis Laurain, Clément Edouard, and Rodolphe Loubatière.
