Allēlōn
The Allēlōn project is centered around three pieces to be improvised, created in collaboration between Olivier Duverger Houpert and composers Nan Zhang, Stéphane Clor, and Sérgio Rodrigo.
Accompanied by sound engineer Mailys Trucat, Olivier navigates this program through improvisation, using his saxophones, pedals, and objects, thereby imprinting his musical personality onto the program while sliding into the three composed universes and their contrasting aesthetics.
Following an initial research residency supported by the Festival Météo in December 2024 at Motoco (Mulhouse), Olivier and Mailys's work at Césaré aims to refine the show's sound design, particularly the various improvised interactions that will allow us to engage the audience in active listening, guided through acoustic details, shifting soundscapes, and enveloping four-point polyrhythms.
A short visit from lighting designer and scenographer Lino Pourquié and the show's director, Romain Gnouechev, will lay the groundwork for the rest of the stage work, in preparation for the premiere of the show at the Festival Musica (Strasbourg) on October 2, 2026.
