Chevêtres

For 2 violins

This project was born out of a desire to work together and follows our multiple meetings that have taken place over several years. Our shared interest in exploring sound, in the spontaneity of gesture and emotions, gives meaning to our collaborative work.

How to connect scattered emotions that are linked to different places and situations? How to relate the diverse times that operate in our daily mental map? These spatial and temporal intensities coexist, but often have no obvious connection. Yet they float in an informal continuum, ready to surface and associate freely, where we least expect them.

Fernand Deligny, psychoanalyst and writer, emphasized how autistic children, with whom he was long involved, retain multiple traces of previous times that persist in their present, without objective explanation. Such is the issue of the subtle tracings of their "lines of wandering," patiently mapped.

We will experiment with the expression of a "layered time." We will work from the "vocabulary" set up by Deligny to sensitize the multi-temporal contents of the movements he mapped, among which are the chevrons.

Chevrons, at the intersection of finite figures and processes of transformation, of fleeting memories and spontaneous gestures, we will collectively configure the principles of a writing nourished by a multiple memory and a sensory-motor involvement.
