The Shop of Dreams

A musical theatre experience with headphones

Based on the short story and radio play Ein Geschäft Mit Träumen by Ingeborg Bachmann, director Clara Chabalier and composer Karl Naegelen join forces to create The Dream Shop, an immersive piece of musical theatre to be listened to through headphones.

The story: a journey to the heart of the imagination

The show follows Laurenz, an otherwise very discreet office clerk. One evening, he changes his routine, takes a detour and pushes open the door of a strange shop. The shopkeeper then invites him to try out three dreams... a mysterious experience that will turn his life upside down.

Creative residency at Césaré

During this creative residency at Césaré, the team is working on the project's sound and music track. Julien Fezans, sound director, captures everyday sounds (field recordings) and records the musicians in the studio.
Ahead of this residency week, a day was organized to record the actors' voices at Césaré on June 10, 2026.
