Spasmes

Spasms invites the audience to a sensory experience in complete darkness, rhythmically shaped by delicate spasms of light. Inspired by the perceptions of blind and visually impaired people, the project explores how sound, vibration, and imagination shape our relationship with space.

A set of sensitive objects designed by Ulysse Gohin connects light and touch. These devices react to sounds with veiled bursts of light and, upon contact, produce sound materials that interact with the musicians. Three visually impaired individuals participate in the creation process and are on stage to manipulate these objects.

At the heart of this luminous and sound organism, Karl Naegelen's new work unfolds a “polyphony of the unstable,” made of multiphonics and silences, where fragility and impermanence are explored.
Spasms thus offers a sensitive immersion, an invitation to listen differently, between body, breath, and space.
