Voix-Seuil

César commissioned Élise Dabrowski to create a musical work for SONOBOX, an immersive sound installation intended for a single spectator.

Voice-Threshold is an exploration of the human voice, between fragile breath and lyrical intensity, intertwined with the textures of the double bass. This piece arises from the intimate relationship established by the sonobox: a lone spectator, facing a sound presence that addresses them.

I wish to prolong the spectator's curiosity who enters the sonobox to lead them to navigate the strangeness, to surrender to the sound, to the music and to this reflection: when one opens to a deep inner listening, the self becomes a threshold, there is no longer a boundary, toward the unheard, toward the other.
