Arctic SEA
Celine Pierre composes visual and sonic journeys taking the form of mixed music pieces, video musics, documentary videos, performances, and publications. Using rudimentary instrument making, "gathered" voices, sonic objects or tools, surveyed landscapes and spaces, … her achievements seek to bring the musical out of what she names the "peripheries of the musical": graphic traces, moving images, texts, or landscapes.
In 2026, for a new cycle of compositions named “Æ. artik SEA”, she is in residency in Northern Iceland. Collections of heterogeneous elements (sounds, images, bones, cartilage, wood, metal) deepen her approach to our perceptions and receptions of the diverse forms and manifestations of life.
The residency at Césaré, conducted with the electroacoustic composer Gwenaëlle Roulleau, focuses on the spatialization of an acousmatic piece with videos and sonic objects que will be premiered on June 10 on Motus's loudspeaker orchestra at the Foliphonies Festival where Celine Pierre is a guest composer.
