Creation for string quartet and sound recordings

"Séverine Morfin carves out a musical path attentive to nature, porous to the sounds of the world around us, to build an ambitious transdisciplinary project where musical creation and ecology become one.

Bringing together contemporary, traditional, and jazz musicians, two researchers and a visual artist, the violist and composer orchestrates an unlikely encounter between a never-before-heard string quartet and sound recordings made at Parc de la Poudrerie (93).

Birdsong, bat calls and fish vibrations are “played” just like the instruments in an elegant, melodic, sometimes hypnotic repertoire, where everything is inseparable and organically linked. Living music. A breathing entity. A beating heart."
